Jean Gabriel Domergue - French painter

From the Belle Époque to the Années Folles, the ‘Parisienne’ was the favoured subject of many painters. Among them, a young artist, Jean-Gabriel DOMERGUE, is soon singled out: he is a painter, a fashion designer and uses his love of women to fuel his talent. “I invented the Pin-up” he says “My first Pin-up dates back to 1912.” With him a new type of woman is born.

For 40 years he acts as an inspiring force and wizard in the grandest festivities…He was to become the guide of Parisian society.

Jean-Gabriel DOMERGUE became the portraitist of the French and foreign aristocracy, and women of the world…
